While the entertainment industry remains primarily on hold due to the pandemic, many Hollywood actors, writers, directors and those in the industry are finding \ways to venture out of Los Angeles safely while adhering to health and safety protocols. Los Cabos, having reopened to visitors on June 15, 2020, is attracting Hollywood celebrities and the bonus is that it is only a two-hour flight from Los Angeles via private or commercial aircraft.
Antonio Jaramillo, an actor in Hollywood known for his roles in Mayans MC, Sons of Anarchy, Magnum P.I., NBC’s Shades of Blue with Jennifer Lopez and dozens of other roles, visited the destination of Los Cabos for the first time in September.
“Wow, it’s so clean and pretty here” were his first comments when arriving to the destination. Jaramillo spent his first two nights at the newly opened chic luxury resort Nobu Hotel Los Cabos. Nobu Hotel Los Cabos has mesmerizing views of sparkling sapphire waters and offers 200 guest rooms and suites with a modern wooden touches, a luxurious spa, retail shopping, infinity pools, private cabanas, and a variety of bars and dining.
While at Nobu Los Cabos, Jaramillo dined at the famed Nobu Restaurant and Pacific Restaurant and enjoyed some time in the spacious pool refreshing from the hot sun.
Jaramillo took long walks on the expansive beach in front of Nobu Hotel and experienced the beauty of the Pacific side of Los Cabos.
The second day in Los Cabos, Jaramillo was treated to a VIP day of sailing by Cabo Adventures in a luxurious French-made sailboat.
On this excursion, he witnessed the iconic Arch at Land’s End, Lover’s Beach and the sea lion colony followed by a relaxing sail up the Sea of Cortez to Santa Maria Bay for swimming and snorkeling.
The Cabo Private Luxury Sailing all-inclusive activity includes stand-up paddleboards, snorkel equipment, snacks, drinks, lunch and towels plus a knowledgeable and professional sailor, a friendly guide and a photographer to capture the memories.
Next, Jaramillo’s itinerary took him to experience a few nights at the newly reopened Viceroy Los Cabos, a five-star beachfront luxury resort in San José del Cabo and named a ‘Top Five World’s Best Resort Hotel in Mexico’ by Travel + Leisure for 2020.
This modern hotel with cinematic views and stunning architecture designed by Miguel Angel Aragonés sits ideally on the turquoise shores of the Sea of Cortez.
Jaramillo’s eco-friendly guestroom and amenities included premium bedding, plush robes, rainfall showers, color mood lighting, Nespresso machine, floor-to-ceiling windows with blackout curtains, a spacious private balcony with an outdoor Jacuzzi, lounge and dining area with postcard-perfect views of the Sea of Cortez. Viceroy Los Cabos also offers complimentary Tesla and Ecar charging stations for hotel and restaurant guests, complimentary bicycle rentals and more.
During his stay at Viceroy Los Cabos, Jaramillo dedicated time to experiencing some of the resort offerings such as dining at CieloMar Rooftop bar and restaurant with a fresh seafood meal curated by chef Cesar Pita, a visit to the Viceroy Spa for a relaxing one-hour foot massage and bike rides in the town of San José.
The day before departure back to Los Angeles, Jaramillo’s last activity in the destination included a visit to nearby Tamarindo’s Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Organic Farm, a mile away from the Sea of Cortez and San Jose del Cabo’s estuary. Tamarindos is located in an original farmhouse dating back to the 19th Century and was once a sugar cane plantation (one of the region’s major exports at the time), and due to its fertile soil quickly became one of the region’s most important farms. The farm was purchased 22 years ago by the current owner, Chef Enrique Silva and his brother. It produces guavas, lemons, olives, bananas, mangos, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, arugula, basil and much more.
Tamarindos offers wine, tequila and mezcal tastings as well as cooking classes and BBQ on the weekends accompanied by live music. Jaramillo enjoyed the jicama tortilla shrimp tacos, arugula and mango salad and assortment of seafood samples.
Antonio Jaramillo fell in love with Los Cabos and its charm and beauty and is looking forward to returning soon with his family and friends.
